This guide will show you how to install Poper on your Joomla website, allowing you to create effective popups that capture leads and improve your marketing efforts.
Prerequisites:
- A Poper account (free plan available)
- A Joomla website
Steps:
Create a New Website in Poper:
Visit the Poper website and navigate to the "Website" section (globe icon). Click on "New Website" and enter your Joomla website's domain name.
Access Poper Dashboard:
Ensure you're on the correct domain within your Poper dashboard. This ensures you're working with the settings specific to your Joomla website.
Get the Embed Code:
Locate the "Code" icon in the left-hand navigation bar and click on it.
Copy the Embed Code:
Within the code menu, you'll find the embed code needed to display your popups on your Joomla website. Click the "Copy" button to copy the code to your clipboard.
Download the Poper Joomla Plugin:

Install the Plugin:
Log in to your Joomla administrator dashboard and navigate to System > Extensions (Extensions under Install).
Upload the Plugin:
Click on the "Upload Package File" button. In the upload field, select the Poper Joomla plugin file you downloaded previously. If the installation is successful, you'll see a confirmation message.
Enable the Poper Plugin:
Go back to the Joomla dashboard and navigate to Plugins.
Locate the Poper Plugin:
In the list of plugins, find the one named "Poper."
Enter Your Poper Email:
Click on the plugin name to access its settings. Locate the input field labeled "Email Address". Enter the email address associated with your Poper account. Also make sure the "Status" is set to "Enabled."
Save the Changes:
Click the "Save & Close" button to save your plugin configuration.
Verify Domain (Optional):
Go back to your Poper dashboard and click on "Verify Domain" at the top. If your Joomla website requires domain verification, follow the instructions provided by Poper to complete this step. A success message will be displayed upon successful verification.
Test Your Popups (Optional):
Navigate to your Joomla dashboard and click on "My Joomla" to open your website in a new window. If you haven't created any popups yet, you won't see them at this stage.
Congratulations! You've successfully installed Poper on your Joomla website. Now you can head back to your Poper dashboard to design attractive popups, customize their content, and set targeting rules to capture leads and boost your marketing efforts.
